Well Hello kaholly and John!

I'm surprised I still have visitors since I've basically been out of the blogging world...and I thank you both for stopping by!

I know you both know of my internet issues(yes, I'll spare you my whining this time), but these little creatures are simply just too beautiful...as far as insects go...to keep all to myself!

I'm not too crazy on going into the I.D. process, when I start comparing the small inuendos of each species....at their constantly changing stages...I then give up.

I simply enjoy the antics, grace and beauty of the 'dragonfly'.

I am glad that you both stopped by and enjoyed my captures...thank you!

kaholly...I stopped by your blog, couldn't leave a comment as it won't fully load, but I saw an image on your side bar of a strange-looking moth? I have a few great(if I do say so myself!)images of this moth, or at least I'm fairly certain it is. Always wondering what the heck it was...now I know...thanks!

Hi Kim. Just caught up with all your recent pics. Thanks for sharing these beautiful creatures and brightening up our winter days.

How are you coping, weather-wise?
Don't rush to respond as I know how difficult it can be for you.

Christmas Wishes to you & all the family. Frank.

Amazing photos! I wish I had your talent. No. I like it better this way. You take the photos and we admire them.

Hi Frank...Thanks for your nice comments! We had our first snowfall of the season yesterday. Freshly fallen snow always looks beautiful here in Wishnik Woods, every tree branch laced with white sparkle. We'll see how I feel about all of that white sparkle after a couple of months of it, huh?!

This Christmas season is almost non-existant for me this year. No tree, no decorations...ha...no Christmas spirit I suppose, first time in my life. I'm alright with it though, I'm focusing on the real meaning of Christmas still...probably more than ever. Frank, none the less, I hope you enjoy a blessed, warm Christmas with your family and loved ones. I'll stop by and visit you soon...thank you for popping in!

Hello Rick...Talent? hmmm?...How about great photographic subjects?!! Sometimes it seems as if these dragons are posing for me! I'm not crazy, I know they aren't.

I stopped by your blog to check you out before I replied to your comment here. I'd say you have the real talent! Your blog wouldn't fully load, but I will try again. I'm interested in reading some of your posts.

Quick note...your white cat looks very much like one of mine, the photo is similiar. If interested in my image...go to artistrising.com...type in Kim Doran in the search box. The capture is titled 'Deep Thoughts'.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I'm so glad that you enjoyed my dragons!

Hello b.bic...I can't understand why anyone wouldn't admire a dragonfly?! But, I'm biased and fortunate to have so many in my woods. Thanks for dropping by and commenting...glad you enjoyed my dragons!

Spookydragonfly, thanks for visiting my blog. I haven't been posting much. I summer in Atlantic Canada and am "unplugged" while there. Posted today (12-23), tho'. I have lots of dragonfly photos, too, mostly taken by my sister (the "Holly" of KaHolly), but I'm getting better at it. They don't stay still for very long! Am looking forward to more of your beautiful work in the future. Your post today didn't leave anyplace to comment and am glad I came back to this post to read your replies. Thanks for taking the time. -karen

Hello Kaholly...I'm glad you popped back in to read my reply. Story of my life in the blogging world, not sure what changed a few months back. I can have a good stretch loading/commenting on a particular blog, and then for whatever reason, I can't. That's exactly why I closed my comment sections, can't expect others to comment on my blog when I can't on theirs. To be honest, the only reason the comments were enabled on this post was that I forgot to close the comment section! Don't get me wrong...I love hearing from everyone, just don't want anyone thinking that I'm ignoring visiting their blog. Plus the amount of time involved in front of this computer doesn't 'sit' well with my spine.

Whew!...Alot of whining there! I feel better!

So, you and your sister photograph the dragonflies as well, huh? Great!... It does take alot of trial and error. The more time that you spend observing them, the more you become hooked!

Merry Christmas, Karen!

Hello Kim!
Wow, these are some amazing captures. I see a HUGE improvement in your dragonfly photography. I hope you are keeping fine. I am having break in the middle of our busy birding tour season. A dragonfly post is long overdue in mine!

Hi Amila!

Thank you, my new camera surely helped! I'm hanging in there, thanks for asking, not much has changed. As I type this, I'm surrounded by a snow blizzard, we've broken records for snowfall this year here. I haven't continued posting all of my dragons, as I began painting again and currently have eight paintings in the works. Guess you could say I got sidetracked.

I will try to visit you soon, again... the past couple of visits to your blog wouldn't fully load.

I'm glad your staying busy with your tours, what a life! I'm still jealous! Thanks for stopping by, Amila!

Beautiful photographs. Loved your blog. Somehow I am unable to post comments on your new posts, think the option is disabled.

spookydragonfly said...

Hello Gayatri...Thank you so much for stopping by and the positive feedback on my photos and blog in general! I disabled the comments as I feel I need to return visits after a comment in particular. I have extreme difficulty in loading other blogs and posting comments...still not sure why. I've repeatedly been told that it is due to my location(in a valley, back in the woods). Please visit my gallery at...artistrising.com...enter Kim Doran in search box. I will attempt to visit you as well! Thanks again!

Hi Kim. Thanks for dropping by this week. Not sure if you picked up my response (plus I don't have your direct contact details) but all's well with both of us. Getting hotter and more humid by the day over here! Glad to learn that you are enjoying the visitors to your plot. Stay well...FAB.

Hi Frank...You're welcome, still the same problems with this connection. I have spoke to several locals here who live in a location such as I, who have tried Hi-Speed Internet. I've been told that the reception wasn't much better and not worth the cost. We had a warm late winter, so my dragonflies along with all of my blooms were about three weeks early...interesting to see how that will play out the rest of the summer. Sounds as if you're enjoying early retirement, as it should be! We're in the middle of a heat wave as well, seems like summer is flying by. Thanks for taking the trouble to reply back here, I miss my blogging friends. Enjoy the rest of summer...you and Anita stay well!!
