This male skimmer was photographed around our pond on July 2, 2008. This is a common variety dragonfly, I loved watching this zebra(my word) dragonfly zooming around. He was a rather large size dragon. I have not seen him since this season.

This is my first visit to your site...I really love your photos! I work at the Botanical Gardens in Austin, TX and marvel at the giant red fuzzy dragonflies that live, I think at the lotus pond.
